Upcycled Bottle Art is a by-product of the one-woman glass art studio of Gisela Spallek who uses kiln “”down-time”” to melt and reshape glass bottles into conversation-starting glassware.
As a recent arrival to Australia Gisela prides herself on producing usable pieces by transforming recycled wine, beer and liquor bottles sourced from neighbourhood bars and restaurants into one-of-a-kind platters and cheese boards. She tries keeping a low carbon footprint by powering her kiln and Sydney-based studio with solar cells.
Gourmet foodies and wine lovers of all ages are drawn to the simple and attractive wine bottle platters to accompany their favourite treats while serving as a conversation piece every time they are used. Available in five different designs, the unique dishes are suitable for all types of delicious dips, snacks and yummy cheeses.
Even more, Gisela can personalise her upcycled platters with hand-painted text and / or decorations and turn any memorable bottle into a custom dish or keepsake platter.
The eco-friendly boards and platters are not only sturdy and dishwasher safe, they are also admired as a curious party feature. Upcycled Bottle Art products make a quirky, eco-friendly present suitable for a housewarming, dinner invitation, hostess or holiday gift solving any gift-giving problems in a cinch.
In addition to recycling and repurposing wine and other glass bottles, Gisela uses stained and kiln-formed glass techniques to design and create small collections of bold and expressive jewellery and homewares under her brand A Fiery Heart.
