Alana Douvros is inspired by the natural abundance of beauty created by the earth. She studied her craft at California College of the Arts and received her BFA in ceramics with a parallel focus on Jewellery Metal Arts. Many of her designs are derived directly from nature, whether it be a raw uncut gemstone, a fossil, or a seashell. Much of the lapidary work (the art of cutting and polishing stone) in ADJ designs has been done by the artist herself as the connection between artist and material is integral to her work. Alana Douvros is currently living and working in Sydney, Australia where she creates jewellery that incorporates natural elements in perfect harmony with geometry and nature.
