Designs by K2 creates unique wire woven statement jewellery incorporating natural stones and artisan made lampwork glass. The collections consists mainly of one of a kind statement pieces and new designs are added frequently.

Wire weaving is one of the oldest techniques for creating hand crafted jewellery. The jewellery is made with various gauges of wire woven together in intricate patterns without the use of solder. The weaving often captures stones or beads to create unique pendants, earrings, bracelets, brooches and much more. Often the look, shape and feel of the stone will inspire the design of the piece.

The collections are created in a home studio in the leafy Hills District of Sydney using traditional wire weaving techniques. Materials are sourced locally whenever possible including the wire and packaging. There is a particular focus on curating unique lampwork glass beads from Australian artisans and incorporating these into the collection.

The wire is made from base metals such as sterling silver, copper and brass. Many of the pieces in the collection are created using copper wire which is then oxidised and polished to highlight the texture of the weaves. This gives a beautiful antique finish to the jewellery and is another unique element.

Designs by K2 can also be found teaching wire weaving in and around Greater Sydney at the Fibre Arts in Australia shop in Balmain and Sydney Jewellery School in Parramatta.
